Findings:
Most of the increase in traffic deaths come from and increase in male drivers and alcohol use

In 2006 male alcohol deaths increased while female decreased.
 

+ The number of drivers deaths have gone up dramatically since 1998.

+ The increase in driver deaths explains most of the increase in all traffic deaths since 1998.

+ Driver deaths comprise the largest number of deaths by far.

+ In 2006 pedestrian and passenger deaths went down slightly.

+ Alcohol related driver deaths have gone up steadily since 1998, while non-alcohol deaths have leveled off in recent years..

+ Pedestrian and passenger alcohol deaths have also had and increase since 1998. 

+ Pedestrian alcohol deaths went up slight in 2006 compared to 2005, while passenger deaths did not.

 + For non-alcohol deaths, drivers have held steady while passenger and pedestrians deaths have gone down in recent years.

+ Both male and female drivers have shown dramatic increases in deaths since 1998, while female driers have shown some tapering off in recent years.

+ As many female passengers as female drivers die in traffic crashes..

+ Proportionally female passengers are much more likely to die in crashes than male passengers..

+ Numerically the actual number of passenger deaths is about the same for males and females.

+ The actual of pedestrian deaths is approximately twice as high as females.
