Traffic Fatalities by Role :  Years 1991-2004
Role refers to the position of the victim in the crash.  There are five main categories:
1. Driver  (includes drivers of motorcycles)
2. Passenger (includes passengers of motorcycles)
3. Pedestrian
4. Bicyclist
5. Other

* Alcohol  Involved crash means one of the parties involved  in a crash had consumed alcohol, not necessarily the person killed.

+ When observed by role, it is clear that alcohol is involved in a high percentage of all types of crashes, with pedestrians having the highest alcohol involvement. (It should be noted that this often the pedestrian who is drunk).
